[Estée Lauder] More than Mascara in Rich Black

I got this sample mascara from a gift set I got last last Christmas and I am in love with this mascara. It is still in the old packaging, since this was like from 2 years ago. Sorry for the crappy photos. I took the photos using my tablet to see how the pictures will be.

Estée Lauder More Than Mascara

Estée Lauder More than Mascara Moisture-Binding Formula:

Defines, conditions lashes and gives a more black impact.

THE FORMULA

  • Boosts lashes with in-depth moisture that binds to each one and keeps it silky.
  • Microscopic beads help prevent friction, so mascara glides on with ease for smooth, even coverage.
  • Ophthalmologist-tested
  • Fragrance-free
  • Suitable for contact lens wearers

THE COLOR

  • Advanced pigment technology creates the blackest shades possible
  • Light is absorbed, reflections reduced, color is visibly intensified.

Ingredients: Purified water, carnauba, silica, stearic acid, polyisobutene, glyceryl, stearate, oleic acid, acrylates, copolymer, aminomethyl, propanediol, pvp/ polycarbamyl polyglycol ester, hydroxyethlcellulose, propylene glycol, trehalose, lauroyl lysine, panthenol, sodium hyaluronate, simethicone, imidazolidynl urea, methyparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, (may contain: titanium oxide), mica, iron oxides, bismuth oxychloride, carmine, ultramrines, chromium oxide greens, chromium hydroxide green.

Made in U.S.A.

Estee Lauder More than Mascara Brush

What I like about the product:

  • Creates soft, full, natural looking lashes.
  • Lengthens
  • No clumping, no flaking, no smudging, no smearing, no stinging.
  • Dries up fast
  • Waterproof
  • It is able to reach the hard to reach lashes.

Neutral:

  • Contains parabens. Parabens is still arguable whether it really is bad for the skin or not. Some people might strictly not like it, while I am just neutral about it.

What I don’t like about the product:

  • I don’t think it’s available locally.
  • It only lengthens a little. My eyes are monolid and the effect isn’t seen very visible unlike other lengthening mascaras.
  • Doesn’t volumize.
  • Mascara dries up fast, so you have to use it up as soon as possible.

Verdict: This mascara is not for those who are looking to wanting dramatic lashes. This mascara is great for those who wants to keep their makeup on a minimal and great for making natural looks. I like to use this mascara on lazy days when I don’t feel like putting on too much but still looking good. One of my major monolid problems is that mascara tend to smudge my lids. What I especially like about this mascara is that it dries up fast. that it doesn’t smudge on my eyelids.

Would I repurchase? Yes but no. This costs around USD 22 and that’s too expensive for me, maybe when I am on a splurging mode.

To whom do I recommend this to? To anyone who wants to have a more natural looking lashes.

[Mentholatum] LipIce Lip Balm in Grape Blackcurrant

I think I am on a writer’s block. There so many things I want to blog about but I just don’t feel like blogging anything. Maybe blogging isn’t really my thing after all. Despite that, I still try to blog because I want to improve my writing skills. Writing reviews may not really add improvement in my writing skills but I just do it on the side so that  I could keep myself blogging.

Lip Ice Grape Blackcurrant

I bought this way back November at Watsons. Initially, I was only to buy a new nail clipper because I broke my old one. Being at Watsons is always a wonderland for me. I always end up looking around and buying things I don’t really plan on buying.

Lip Ice Grape BlackcurrantMentholatum LipIce Lip Balm in Grape Blackcurrant (3.5 g), Php 89

I always had my eye on this brand. I had wonderful experience with Mentholatum’s facial wash. When I heard that this brand also has different product ranges, I was ecstatic to try them but I always end up putting this product on the side. I finally decided to buy one.

Lip Ice Grape Blackcurrant

The Lip Ice Lip Balm:

Mentholatum LipIce contains SPF 15 to give extra protection for lips against harmful sunray. Cooling, moisturising, relief for dry chapped lips all year round.

Ingredients: Mineral oil, ozokerite, petrolatum, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, ethylhexyl salicylate, lanolin, dimethicone, flavor, menthol, camphor.

Made in China.

What I like about the product:

  • Very affordable at only Php 89.
  • Available locally.
  • Has a nice selection of scents.
  • Moisturizing without being waxy.
  • Has SPF 15!
  • Gives a nice minty feeling on application. I love minty lip balms!
  • It is not waxy, which makes it a very good base for lipstick.

What I don’t like about the product:

  • None that I can think of.

Verdict: I love this lip balm. Unlike my TBS Born Lippy Lip Balm, LipIce Lip Balm is light and moisturizing. I only get to use TBS Born Lippy Lip Balm at night where my lips need intense moisturizing because my lipstick don’t stick well on top of it. LipIce Lip Balm is the perfect lip balm for regular days. You can use it under your lipstick/ lip gloss. It will help your lips from not drying out.

Would I repurchase? Yes! I want to try all the flavors and variants!

To whom do I recommend this to? To anyone who wants to have a lip balm that is light on the lips but still moisturizing.

By the way, I was surfing through LipIce’s Facebook page when I found out that they have a Christmas promo!

Hello! It’s been a while and I owe you a lot of blog posts. For today, I want to share to you my current skin care routine and current love. If you remember a few weeks back, I was one of the 200 people to have won a Hydra Végétal 7-day Program Kit  from Yves Rocher.

Yves Rocher Hydra Vegetal 7-Day Program Kit

Yves Rocher Hydra Végétal 7-day Program Kit contains:

Hydrating Cleansing Milk (50 ml)
Hydrating Toner (50 ml)
24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream (15 ml)

According to Yves Rocher:

The secret moisture retention powers of botanical saps.

Sap from maple trees and blue agave plants combined with patented betaine lock in a water supply deep inside the skin. This acts as a perpetual moisture reserve* that circulates throughout every layer of the skin, even the most dehydrated, providing deeply penetrating moisture.**

Your skin is thoroughly saturated so it receives intense continuous moisture and looks replenished** and radiant!

(*in vitro test) (**in vitro test using RAMAN spectroscopy)

Directions: Use this beauty routine morning and night for soft, luminous skin that is thoroughly moisturized and beautifully radiant.

  1. Apply the Hydrating Cleansing Milk with a cotton pad to face and neck.
  2. Next, use another cotton pad to apply the Hydrating Toner.
  3. Finish your treatment with 24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream.

*Products tested under dermatological supervision.

For all skin types, normal to combination skin.

Made in France.

Hydrating Cleansing Milk (50 ml)

This is the first cleansing milk I have tried. I was amazed by the thought that I no longer needed to wash my face with water.

Ingredients: Water, parrafinum liquidum oil minirale, glycerin, ethylhexyl cocoate, coco-caprylate, sorbitan stearate, ceteth-20, propylene glycol, cetyl alcohol, phenoxyethanol, carbomer, methylparaben, fragrance, sorbic acid, sodium hydroxide, allantoin, acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, ethylparaben, propylparaben, tetrasodium edta

Hydrating Toner (50 ml)

Ingredients: Water, alcohol, propylene glycol, butyene glycol, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, oleth-20, methylparaben, oleth-10, tetrasodium edta, fragrance, allantoin, sorbic acid, potassium sorbate.

24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream (15 ml)

Ingredients: Water, glycerin, isononyl isononanoate, dimethicone, zea mays (corn) starch, ethylhexyl stearate, methylpropanediol, ethylhexyl cocoate, stearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, glyceryl stearate, butylene glycol, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, sorbitan stearate, mangiferin, peg-100 stearate, acer saccharum (sugar maple) extract, fragrance, agave tequilana leaf extract,  methylparaben, ammonium acryloydimethyltaurate, phenoxyethanol, ethylparaben, tocopheryl acetate, allantoin,  xanthan gum, propylparaben, , tetrasodium edta, lactic acid, potassium sorbate.

What I like about the product:

  • Very moisturizing!
  • Does make my skin soft and radiant.
  • The cleansing milk can remove light makeup.
  • The gel cream does not make my skin feel greasy or oily.
  • The amount of product you get is enough for more than 2 weeks and I am now on my 4th week!

Neutral:

  • Contains phenoxyethanol and parabens. I saw articles about it but I think it is still arguable whether it really is bad for the skin or not. Some people might not strictly like it, while I am just neutral about it. Until there is a final say on it, I will stay neutral about this matter.
  • Contains fragrance. I do like the light sweet smell of it, but I prefer my products unscented. Fragrance in itself has too many chemicals in it.

What I don’t like about the product:

  • The packaging for the cleansing milk and toner is not user-friendly. The hole is too big, if you’re not careful you’d get too much of the product or spill it.

Unlike the cleansing milk and toner, the packaging of the gel cream makes it easier to dispense the product and control the amount of product you want.

  • I had minor stinging in the cheeks area, near the nose, but it’s bearable.

Verdict: I am in love with this skin line! As I always have mentioned, I have dry- very dry skin. I was very excited to try this product because it offers to hydrate the skin. Moisture is something our skin really needs because we only retain a fraction of the water in our skin. I have been using this for weeks now and the results are great! Despite being dehydrated most of the time, because I am always too lazy to drink water, my skin was able to maintain its moisture. I no longer had dry, flaky patches on my face! Plus, my T-zone started to get a bit oilier than usual! Some of you may find me weird because I rejoice on the oiliness of my skin but I believe that the skin needs a bit of oiliness. My skin was so dry before that if I were to use an oil blotting paper, there would be no oil stains. I believe that my skin has become more youthful looking!

Would I repurchase? Yes! Yes! Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to? To anyone who needs a moisturizing skin care product.

[The Body Shop] Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist

Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist (100 ml) Php 795

I was set into buying this when I first saw this being promoted at The Body Shop Philippines’ Facebook page because I initially thought it was a facial mist. I lost my intention of buying it when I found out it was a body mist! The SA kept bugging me to try it and buy it and was then talked into buying it.

The Body Shop Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist:

Spritz on lightweight moisturization with lustrous Community Trade organic olive oil. NORMAL/DRY SKIN.

Easily absorbed, non-greasy all-over moisture with Community Trade organic olive oil to leave skin soft and supple.

Made in UK.

What I like about the product:

  • I got in on sale for only Php 477 instead of Php 795!
  • It is lightweight and is easily absorbed by the skin.
  • It is non-greasy. It is perfect for the humid and ever-changing weather in the Philippines. It doesn’t make you feel oily and sticky when you’re sweaty and when you’ve been wet by the rain.
  • Very moisturizing. Makes my skin feel baby soft and smooth even after a day of not using it!
  • Gives you a nice sheen/glow.

Neutral:

  • I am not really fond of its scent which is organic-y and olive-y.

What I don’t like about the product:

  • Expensive when bought at regular price of Php 795 for 100 ml. I guess you’ll just have to wait for it go on sale.
  • The bottle can get greasy from constantly applying  with  the hands.

Tip: Pat it on to your skin instead of rubbing it, that way your skin gets more moisturized.

Verdict: I grew to love The Body Shop Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist despite my initial presumptions. The Body Shop Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist is the first body oil I have tried and the effects are just amazing. I really wish they had a facial mist like this because I have super dry face.
